These Rohnert Park Library murals were the creation of artist Martha Crawford. Martha was commissioned to create these colorful murals depicting an alphabet time-line for the world’s languages
and a fanciful alphabet wall featuring whimsical characters on the theme of alphabet blocks. The piece is fun and stimulates
the creativity of the viewer. This beautiful piece was installed in the fall of 2002. Within a short period of time it began
to lose its colors. This is when Nordby Construction contacted Tile Artisans.
Tile Artisans was called upon to reproduce the images using our new Photo Imaging process. Since our images are made with
ceramic glazes that are fired at over 1650oF, they will last a lifetime. As a matter of fact, in the testing laboratory, Tile
Artisans new Image Transfer tiles tested higher then the highest rating for UV light resistance. The new Image Transfer process
is also highly resistant to harsh chemicals such as acetone, ammonia, and denatured alcohol. This makes for easy clean up
from vandalism caused by such things as spray paint, permanent markers and more. For further information see our Technical Specifications page.
